The Evanston History Center is located in Evanston, Illinois in the historic Charles Gates Dawes House, built in 1894 on a two-acre lakefront site. The mission of the Evanston History Center is to collect, preserve and interpret the rich history of the City of Evanston and all its people through exhibits, educational programs and research facilities.
This blog will feature all kinds of stories relating to Evanston. We will post about new research we’ve done on families who lived in Evanston, photographs of collection objects, and behind the scene activities at the museum.
